White grape juice?

Anyone else having trouble finding it at the moment?

None in either of my local Sainsbury's, nor the Lidl I walk past on my way back from the railway station. Aldi stock it, but in diminishing quantities.

Everywhere seems to have red grape juice in quite high supplies!

Haven't tried Tesco/AsDa yet...

Our Tesco's only have Red Grape at the moment as do Lidl's and Asda.

When the White Grape begins to fill the shelves, I can see a panick buy coming on :twisted:

I emailed tesco because our local one didn't have anu for weeks, I was told there was plenty in other stores, I asked why not in all stores, to cut a long story short they got on to the buying team and explained wine makers need it, there is always a good stock in there now.

Our local Aldi in Kendal seem to have more white than red. They were out of all grape for ages earlier this year. I would have thought with this years harvest being so good we would be awash with the stuff.

Lambrini's not made from grapes.

The 85p a litre stuff seems to have completely vanished from our Tesco and they've only got the top price juices.

However, there's plenty now back in Aldi at 95p. Cartons have been redesigned, but whereas previously they had red and white in the same outer carton, the white got sold first and the outers filled up with just red, now they have red and white in separate outer trays of 6 cartons, which I find very convenient.

I will have to look out for that in our Aldi. They used to have them in outers of 4 WGJ and 4 RGJ, but lately it seems that they were 6 WGJ and 2 RGJ. It would be better split into each variety.

This is the effect of a **** harvest last year. This year even UK vineyards are struggling to find enough migrant workers to bring in the harvest because it is so big that they are appealing for British volunteers to help them out. Now there's a turnaround for the books!

I wondered why the cheap 1ltr varieties had done a disappearing act. ASDA still have the white. Tesco stock only the 1.5ltr red.

Ours does the white in a 1.5 litre.

If you are having trouble at Tesco getting either juice send them an email, i did this and they got in touch and told me some stores have it and others don't, they then contacted the buying team, they now always had a decent stock.

Our local telco here in Enfield north London
Have plenty of red and white but in 1.5l cartons
Morrisons have plenty of white and red.
Our local sainsberys don't seem to sell it.

Where I live, it is virtually impossible to get WGJ. I have found only one stockist and at $12.00 aud per 750 mill bottle makes it very expensive to use.
I have found sparkling white grape juice at about half the price and as we both quite like a sparkling wine I use it back sweeten when bottling.
Seems to work for me.

If there is a problem with supply of white grape juice, consider sultanas, cheapest source Aldi. They are usually derived from Thompson seedless grapes, which are used for winemaking in California. They are 70% pure grape sugar by weight, plus you get all the goodies from the skin and flesh of the grape.Mince them in blender. Just add the water which has been removed by sun drying.
