I watched ‘Ice Cold in Alex’ last night. It’s one of my favourites.

Watched Heat last night again, forgot what a cracking movie that is!

Not so much a movie as a mini-series, but if you like sci-fi in an Ex_Machina/Annihilation vein, DEVS on BBC iPlayer is worth a watch.

I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last weekend. I'm a fairly big fan of Tarentino and this was the first film of his that I felt was a bit meh. Don't get me wrong, Pitt and Di Caprio were both very good and there were some other great characters and scenes but I felt the whole thing was a bit boring; like it kept you waiting for something to happen that never did. I also felt Margot Robbie talents were wasted in it. It's possible that it was a bit too built up for me before I watched it; I know many seem to rave about it.

I know somebody that made a documentary film called "Last Breath" - watch it but don't look up anything about it. It's absolutely effing amazing. Watch it in quiet at night and have all your drinks and stuff ready.

I think it's still on Netflix at the moment.

My thoughts exactly! I read up on it cause I just didn't get it. I now understand what he was trying to say and do but I still think as a movie he missed the mark. Think it's more a Hollywood back patting piece than anything else.

Randomly selected The Gentlemen as the film du jour over the weekend.

I expected a Lock Stock cockney geezer rehash.
I 'think' that is what I received, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not sure if it was the American slight slant or the clever twist and smashing of assumptions along with a timeline that was largely retrospective, but I surprised myself in enjoying it. To the point I watched it again the following night
It's worth a watch even if it is only for the Hugh Grant cockney accent....

I might have talked about this one before but I recently rewatched Mad Max Fury Road. What a movie. Truly jaw dropping action, and the fact that they really built (and destroyed) those cars and shot on location gives a watching experience that CGI just doesn't quite capture. A stunningly beautiful movie too, although some of the day-for-night colour correction is a little jarring (but that might have also been a stylistic choice). A simple but effective plot that takes a back seat to the happily over the top action set pieces, and just a really enjoyable movie.

LOL, my skirt didn't move either!
It was 'fine' but not outstanding.
I've seen some comments that the soundtrack selection was a tad incongruous for the action scenes but to be honest, I didn't notice.
An indicator of the level of 'meh' perhaps.

@ChilledGecko one of the films it reminded me of is Hancock... Charlise Theron is in Hancock. In case people want to watch it I'm saying nothing else.
