I need some beer and, as Alan Partridge would say, some chat.

What can we arrange for the summer?

Jon

Wez

I have posted this interesting thread after four pints of Brakespear Buzz and obviously, perhaps stupidly, I have posted it to the wrong forum. Sorry. Please can I ask you to move it to a new thread in a newly created "Let's get together" forum?

Sorry.

Over-worked and, to be honest, slightly drunk bloke at large.

Kind regards
Jon

I'm not Wez, so I'll just move it out of HERMS and into The Snug for now.

Another Brewers' Banter sounds good to me though

Thanks Moley

My apologies, once again.

Kind regards
Jon

Wez and I have discussed this topic in passing ;)
It will be a get together and bottle swap rather than a competition (once a year is enough)
Watch this space for any forth coming details :thumb:

I'm on the brakspear oxford gold at the mo, :thumb:

Can I assume that if I can sort it with the brewery a few of you would be up for a re-run at the same place? (as TS says, bottle swap weekend rather than a comp) so just a get together (bearing in mind the brewery still wouldn't let us sup our own there)

I'd be up for another get together but it would be a bit sad if we couldn't sit around and drink each others beers. Camping somewhere with a nice big fire and loads of homebrew (plus beer nerds) would be my ideal weekend away. :drunk:

Last time it was OK outside of their serving hours, it's because we camped in their beer garden and I guess it would look bad having paying customers sat next to us drinking our own. Understand the point though and ..... without saying too much, we got by OK in May ;) ahem!

Not sure a full weekend would be on the cards for me in August but I could sneak out for a night :D, it does depend on the weekend though.

I have to agree it was pretty awesome last time. It's a good thing us home brewers are respectful fellows.

:thumb: i think a blind eye will be turned as long as it's not obvious if you know what i mean, worked OK in May :D

Did they not sell out of some beers, even with a bit of moonshine they will still have a profitable weekend

I agree, the brewery was a superb choice of venue for the Spring Thing, but if we're just talking about a brewers' get-together I don't see why it needs to be anywhere near a paying bar.

Proper toilet facilities would be useful, so why not just some basic camping site?
