Enough of the semantics and linguistics,

I doubt that they will put me in charge of the world any time soon, even if I asked nicely, so if your turn comes before mine, what new laws or measures would you introduce?

I spend enough of my day making sure my work is spelt correctly and reads well, so with the number of posts I make on the forum..I really dont give two hoots how it's spelt or reads as long as the correct message is understood, everyones a winner, innit. :thumb:

A vast spectrum of people come together here for the sake of the love of making beer and wine, if they can spell great, if they can spell and cant be arsed to bother to correct themselves great, if they cant spell thats great too. I just hope people can ask questions and or help people in their way and not feel that they have to pass some sort of exam to be able to participate, or that they are going to be made to feel inadequet if they dont meet someone else's standards.

Well said Wez

English people who spell plough 'plow' really get me going, as do the many different spellings of the word diaphragm i often encounter!! lol

also there is a roundabout i go over every morning where some ***** just has to go in the wrong lane, seriously there is a sign for the love of God, left hand lane - left or straight over, right hand lane - right only!!!

hang on theres more... People who fly through the flood outside my work, not realising its salt water from the tidal river, that will rot their cars, idiots.

People who want parts for lawnmowers, chainsaws, strimmers and the like, when asked what make and model they say 'they're all the same'

I have to admit that I agree with Moley. I can't claim to be perfect by any means but I certainly try.

One that I have seen recently that surprises me is the use of 'been' instead of 'being'. E.g. I was been honest.

Sorry Wez, this was meant to be a bit of light-hearted fun, I spot the mistakes because it's part of my job but I've only passed comment twice (once for lager / larger and now for should of / should have), neither were on this forum and both times I was plastered. Both times the joke has ended up on me.

In case you hadn't noticed, I don't take myself too seriously and I don't require anyone else to.

Anyway, it's the weekend now, I'm off duty, spell stuff however you like.

I hate people who throw satistics at you and then claim they are significant. When I ask what significance test they used they claim I am being pedantic.

I hate people who are **** at their jobs but make the right sounds so stupid people actually think they are good.

I hate advisors that come to see me to copy what I am doing and go away and sell it as their own.

Bugger actually I hate just about everyone... barrel ran out

I know them all well, except for Dudley. I get lost now driving through Dudley, I can see where I am, the landmarks are all still there but the roads have all moved.

When i worked in Blackheath it was for one of the largest structual engineering companys in th UK (thomas william lench) you go there now and its just a housing estate, the only remains of a company that lasted over 100 years and employed over 2500 local people is the old OLIVER SHOP which is now a visitors atraction in the BLACKCOUNTRY MUSEUM.

Yep damn right :) Course if it's some kid with a clipboard hassling me over home loans or invoices, different story ;)

Tell you what though. If I ruled the world, there would be no such thing as a dogwalker who didn't clean up behind their dog! And also, free ice cream and hops for everyone \o/

<Sore Head On Mode>
This normally doesn't bother me, but recently there have been an increase in posts using text speak ( :nono:  ) and even worse no punctuation. I'm beginning to get to the point where if someone wants a response to a question/problem and they want someone to decipher both the meaning and emphasis of their post . . . Well I just CBA any more. . . .Spelling is not a problem, my brain trypes much faster than my fingers can respond, . . . Or should I just be rude and respond to the post the way I do to my Daughters texts

"You What? Please use English and punctuation would help!"
