Manchester.....scorchio !
Sat here drinking a pint and eating cashew nuts.
Then I opened a packet of KP salt and vinegar nuts...wow

So what's your favourite beer snack ?

In years gone by mine used to be Brannigans ham and mustard crisps...monster
Porky scratching are quite good also

Cracking thread :thumb:

I like everything you mentioned, for me it has to be something that isn't going to spoil the beer so nothing too spicy. I do like nuts and would stick to just plain salted peanuts, roasted chestnuts are a great excuse to lounge in the kitchen drinking beer waiting for the cooker to do it's work on them ;) should see them in the shops too soon.

The ultimate for me though requires too much effort or a good wife, a bowl of good hot beef gravy, a small pot of mild horseradish and a big plate of perfect yorkshire puddings :D

That for me, is beer munchie heaven

Having a night off 'kid duty' Steve ;) I am :D

A plate of roast potatoes on a bar on a Sunday arvo is always a pleasant sight.

Oh don't, i've just come over all funny :D

Old Empire's??? Sounds rather good...

I go through fads with snacky things. But when i used to frequent my local i was well known for my love of pork scratchings. Marmite crisps were a close second. Honey roasted peauts and twiglets are another fave. :D

I'd agree with more hops in the Old Empire. One of my favourite bottled beers.

As for snacking, a friend of mine brought over a loaf of Tiger Bread and some Cambonzola cheese when we had a brewday in the summer. It made for a fantastic accompaniment.

Old Empie's sounds like something i'll be hunting down. I've found a weird on-line bottle shop here that has loads of english beers but at a price. I like the sound of that Old Empire.

Curry Twiglets were absolutely marvellous. They didn't do them for very long though. I'm sure i almost got addicted to them.

A pub i used to go to did roasted marmite potatoes as bar snacks on a sunday. There used to be a mad rush for them when they were put out and they lasted nano seconds. They also did curried roast potatoes too but they weren't a patch on the marmite ones.

They also sell it in cans which might be a better idea as it's sold in clear bottles so there's a risk of skunking.

mmm that post about chestnuts is making me miss the open fireplace at my old house... many a time i had my feet up, lights off and staring into the flames that licked the brass chestnut cooker thingy my ol' dear gave me with a cool homebrew in hand. yummy :)

mmmm twiglets mmmm marmite.... hey i wonder what marmite beer would taste like :wha:

Olives, preferably Kalamata
Also, pistachio nuts
