What's the 1 bit of advice you wish someone had given you, which you'd pass on to a new brewer?

Probably only inasmuch as the ease with which I can whack in a quick kit - as opposed to a full brew day. Makes me appreciate how much effort reaching critical mass can take.

And just to reiterate. I knocked out 12L of pale ale (from a B&M kit) in no time at all today, while I was pottering about re-cleaning my AG kit. That's another 20 bottles or so to add to the stockpile, without losing a whole day.

However, that also emphasises the point that a single under counter brew fridge is not adequate to my needs.

Probably to try and amass as many swing top bottles as quickly as possible. When I look back now and think of the hours I spent capping 70 x 330ml bottles for a 40 pint kit! What a waste of time. Not to mention money as you have to keep buying caps.

I've seen the photos you posted of your 'critical mass' @Dutto and it looks like you are planning for a world beer shortage

... and that was before I heard about the UK CO2 shortage!!
