Finished a beer festival with a pint, and then another or two, Of Elgood's Black Dog mild. Never seen it since and I thought it was the best pint I had ever had, but I was pisssed at the time.
Never had a bad pint of Oakham Bishop's Farewll, Could drink it until it pours out of my ears.

Cantillon Lambic Kriek.
It had foolishly been included in a 2 for 1 on near end of date beer packs by Beerhawk! All they'd done was age it nicely before selling it cheap! It was magnificent!

I am seriously surprised no one prefers there home brew, when I first tasted my 1st all grain which was totally different to what I was aiming for my 1st thought was why don't they make this commercially.

Going in May, then to Bruges.
Looking forward to it. Was going to do the Cantillon tour but heard its a craphole..lol
It'd be blasphemy to go to Brussels without visiting Cantillon. I've done the tour a few times now and there's something magical about the place. Plus you'll have some of the best beers in the world available in the tasting room afterwards.

You must be Braindead if you don't go. It doesn't cost a lot and you get a few tasters as well. Plus the little glass if your cheeky and pinch it. :tongue:I did the self guided tour but should of done the full one. Then there's a bar at the end happy days.

I've had loads of incredible beers, but I bet most of that is down to atmospher, mood you're in, people you're with etc.

But when I consider consistently satisfying pints, I'd say blacksheep bitter on handpull. I'm fortunate to have several good pubs my way that have it on all the time and being local(ISH) the beer doesn't have to travel far.

Penguin Ale, brewed in the Falklands, was lovely. But the NAAFI refused to stock it and the brewery closed. I think it was Everards.

I agree with you whole-heartedly. While I occasionally come across a commercial beer that is as good as my AG brews, it's much more likely to be worse. I guess they cut corners in search of pennies.
