what's wrong or indeed weird about a clean home ?

You hoover the curtains?

That is weird man, if you are getting dust buildup on them then something is off in your place.

Some fabrics are dust-magnets. Velvet (or faux-velvet) is the worst.

I don't think a clean home is wierd, I keep a horrendously clean home, I just have never felt the need to hoover my curtains.

What I'm saying is have you considered the possibility of mould spores? Your curtains shouldn't be getting dusty.
