Hey,

Been having some great success with the ones that were shaped like pellets, but I thought something was up, when using the pellets you've hardly got the lid back on before the fermentation starts again, and then most of it is on the bottom after about another 5 days or so, this time I noticed that just after a few hours it had stopped, so question, with the "leaf" type of hops should I of used the mesh bag and then submersed it when I put them in?

Thanks

I've bottled this today just in case it would go off, .....tasted ok though (I always start to taste now..)

I can't see any reason why it would have stopped fermentation so it should be fine. What was your final gravity, that would be more telling as to when fermentation ended. No probs with chucking the leaf hops in like that as long as you managed to filter them out without bottling up a load of hop bits!

with the pellets they all sink so the surface contact is lots more than what happened here, there's most of the leaf not in contact with the beer, thus making me think I should have dunked it....

Yeah got quite a good filter that works really well.. all though the bulbous pump thing aerates the beer to much for me so i removed that part before bottling, less air....

This i removed it was great for the first bit of suction but after that the aeration is quite a lot, when it's removed no air, less bottling bubbles.
