I'm a tig welder, I make equipment for commercial kitchens.

Some day is I'd to weld a Bender from Futurama and be able to open his chest compartment to pour a beer. Just attach a motion activated sound player and he could be telling me to "destroy all humans!" every time I grab a pint. I like that.

From 1969 to 1972 I worked on an oil-refinery with a gentleman called John Weddel who had been the 17/21st Lancer's RSM before his retirement.

Another ex-Army man on my shift, Ron Sparkes, had served in the British Army as a "Muleteer". (A fitting job for Ron 'cos he was a stubborn beggar!)

God I'm feeling old today!

I work as an Electrical Design Engineer for a contractor, who specialise in the installation and modernising of data centres and critical network infrastructure (CNI).

I'm a qualified electrician by trade, but in 2009 before I qualified, the company I worked for went into administration with immediate effect. I struggled to find work so I re-trained in college. I now attend University once a week studying Building Services Engineering, partially paid for by my employers.

Did my 22 years in the REME as a mechanic, I've been the fleet manager for a large public sector organisation here in Scotland for the last 9 years.
