Hop House 13 clone from a recipe I cobbled together from various bits of information found online. Partial mash, 15ltr batch.

I know, it just made me laugh was all! Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out as a clone and instead is much better!

American IPA kit from the range. 20 Bottles. Includes bucket for £24. Not sure if that is good value or not...but I needed the 15L bucket.

Mosaic Rye Beer.
Last time I made this the mash stuck like a ba***rd in the Grainfather. Used 250g rice hulls this time around and it made a big difference.
Also used the Robobrew false bottom in the Grainfather for the first time, as recommended by David Heath. Really pleased with how it worked.
The pump pushed the wort into the fermenter quicker than normal and I got about 1L extra of beautiful ale.

Red summer fruits WOW. Only bought the airlocks yesterday and have the bottom drawer of the freezer to clear out before this years fruit.
Found these which I saw someone using on a youtube clip. Seemed ideal for the first stage of a 5L wow.

Do you fined you get a lot of trub/hop and grain residue using the pump to rack to FV?

Not really no. I started off doing biab, then had a go at a 3 vessel setup and I’ve been using the Grainfather for the last 8 months.
Trub’s been about the same with all the methods.
It’ll be interesting to see what the trub in this brew is like after using the false bottom.
I definitely got more wort into the fermenter than I normally do.

My thinking is that because the bottom is where all the sh*t would be, using a pump which sucks from the bottom you’d get it all in the FV. I recently pumped from my Brewster bacon into my FV and thought that the wort was very cloudy/hazy. I just wondered if I could do a side-by-side comparison where I transfer from the top of the wort in the boiler and compare to the pump would it make a difference?

Didn't brew anything new, just racked an ESB (Bulldog English Ale, suprisingly compact flocculation!), for bottling tomorrow, and I took care of the hops.

Just bottled a Belgian ale if you would call it that. 4.5 kg Minch ale malt , 500 grams of cara-munich 1. Cml Belgian ale yeast. Single hop with 100 grams of sladek hops between flame out and dry hop. Never used the hops or yeast before. It smells like nothing I have ever made before. Looking forward to try itacheers.

Greetings all,

Made a small batch of pineapple cider testing out Pat Macks homebrewing caps. They seem to be a great piece of kit.
