Brewed an Italian Pilsner yesterday…. Normally I heat all my water up to strike temperature and then remove the sparge water into an insulated tub.. Seemed to have completely forgot that last part aheadbutt wondered why my mash looked a bit thin 😀 Anyway only ended up 3 points down so not so bad.

Hibies Irish Red by CML. Bought the 19L kit and somehow managed to mash & boil in my 20L urn using advanced jiggery pokery (now I understand the term 'mash thickness'). Fermenter started bubbling after 2 hours, first time I've used the supplied beoir yeast, seems lively. This could be my last BIAB AG brew as I'm going to try a few extract recipes next, less faffing about.....

Did that kit awhile back it's very very good,

The airlock is still burping away every 2 seconds and there's already a 1cm krausen and a 2cm layer on the bottom. Interestingly I have a heatband set on 20.5C via my inkbird and the room ambient temperature is 19 C, but the sidewall of the fermenter is 23.5C, so it's generating some heat.

Finished early so thought I’d get another brew on.. been slack over winter and got **** loads of empty bottles to fill.. Thought I’d do the London pride clone of this site UK Pale Ale Recipes

First brew in my new G30. No disasters of the hot-wort-all-over-the-floor variety, but the target 19L of 1049 turned into 15L of 1056... looks and tastes good though.

Plenty of food for thought on how best to use the kit.

Mostly MO with 5% or so each of Pale Wheat and Carapils. Centennial and Willamette hops. Ringwood yeast.

First glass since getting back into it after 30 years, Beerworks Dockers Merseyside IPA, I left it for 2 weeks longer in the bottle than stated. It's very malty with a spicy twist. Not bad for my first attempt after so long away. Can't wait for my next one.

My new boiler arrived so decided to try it out, the CML Māori Mingle 10L kit, just mashed in and so far so good it is lovely to be able to brew outside on the patio and not have to worry about steaming out the kitchen.

As for the beer haven’t tried this particular CML kit before but the previous Crossmyloof kits have always being excellent so I’m pretty optimistic. Though I do plan to switch out the provided yeast with a sachet of CML Hornindal.

Today I brewed a Steam Pilsener, repeat of a recipe I did a year ago with a couple of tweaks

18l batch BIAB
23.6l total water
OG 1.051
FG 1.012
EBC 8.7
IBU 39

3.5 kg Weyermann extra pale Pilsener
800gm Crisp Vienna
20gm Crisp Dark Crystal

60 mins 25gm Hallertau Mittelfrauh
10 mins 75gm Hallertau Mittelfrauh

MJ 54 pitched at 19c

20l into FV , OG 1.050. Hoping I've not under pitched, recommended 1 pack per 23l so should be alright.
Last batch ended up over predicted abv with healthy attenuation so fingers crossed.

I’ve got an American blonde ale on to mash at the moment:

46.5% MO
46.5% Pilsner malt
7% flaked maize

10g citra, 10g simcoe at 10mins
20g citra, 10g simcoe at 5mins

Ferment with US-05

Water treated to a “light hoppy” profile that I lifted from these forums in the autumn.

I brewed a NEIPA AG recipe bought from TMM called Idaho 7, obviously because it uses only Idaho 7 hops. Strangely, the 1st hop addition (40g) was at 0 mins/whirlpool.

Brew day went smoothly, with nice weather making the day even more enjoyable. The brew is currently sitting in the FV, but no activity yet after 20 hours. Next addition is on day 2, with 60g of hops.

Anyone done this brew? Would be good to hear any tips or feedback.
