Bete Blanc Blonde (pineapple juice for SWMBO'd).
Beer is like the best palest Weissbier you can get.

Then it's a slight change of plan.
I had duck with Pic St Loup.
Mme had pave de Saumon and local Jongleux white.
We did swap some, as always.
The tables behind are empty as OUR army had just left.
The British Rhino club winters sports contingent are in town.
Very well behaved, strangely.
Then we had to walk THIS far back to our apartment:

Looks positively horrific!

Went to a trial brew day today at Otterbank brewing and blending. He’s starting a new brew school venture and this was to see how the kit faired out when all 5 brewmonk 70l were in action. Lots of beers consumed over the day and good insights into a commercial brewery brew day. Back next week to dry hop and then bottling.

Last night in the French Alps apartment, so it's a takeaway Boeuf Bourgignon (later) and a supermarket bought Burgundy red.
I'm forced to have most of it and for my preprandial too, as SWMBO'd is doing a online conversational language course tonight, so doesn't want any wine.
Shame is what I say. 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷😳
Still, can't go to waste and someone's got to drink it. 😜

Back to FRONT photos, but same Red Burgundy wine.
A little young (a '22), but opening up with air in the glass and bottle.
Lovely long farewell now.
We've had '22 Rhones and Clarets here which were much more immediately pleasing.
Red Burgundy seems to need more time in bottle.
The white Burgundies mind you are all SUPERB!

Where are you skiing?

The last pouring of the Carrefour special promotion Burgundy. £12.
Answer:
It's a
Proper French village / resort, les Contamines-Montjoie.
It's in Haute Savoie, bang next to Chamonix Mont Blanc.
Has a SNCF station and a passing motorway.
Lowish altitude, only topping at 2500m
but the Massif Mont Blanc next door gives it a good and long snow record.
The British Army Rhino ski club are here for their 30th year in succession, so it must be good.⛷️🍷🍻☺️
