They do some nice beers, good luck with the move.
The Red has toffee back note that brings it to life. My last lot of brews have been low on the crystal malts. I’m thinking some CaraMunich III is needed in the next brew, that most traditional of Irish ingredients 😂.

Next up, the last beer in the fridge.

Another lovely beer. Kinnegar are consistently high standard.

That Scraggy Bay looks lovely any idea of the recipe or just the hops, thanks.

No idea. Hop character is low, it’s the crystal malt combination that makes it stand out from the crowd. These beers are all about getting the malt bill right.
Next time, I’m going to do my 2022 LAB recipe but swap the CaraRed for either Simpsons Aromatic or a CaraMunich. Or, if its for the Nitro tap, swap the 7% crystal from something beefier.

Tonight's tipples:

Bottled in April, a blend of tail ends of casks brewed in '23.
Effing cold, but recognisably those tasty beers.
Poured too much yeasty sediment, damn!

A beautiful Claret from Majestic, with lamb steaks.
A combination made in Heaven.

The Christmas '87 Cockburns port.
I'm so glad I have more of this in the understairs cupboard. 😁🍷
(behind that dresser).

I’ve taken down and packed away all the outdoor decorations today so my grotto has reverted to my bar. Now I’m looking forward to summer BBQs and summer beers - though I have a lot of winter beer to get through yet. I’m starting tonight with a bitter. This is my Full English bitter but with a few grams less of dark crystal. I’m surprised by the difference and I actually prefer the original.
