Why the name change? When I was in the UK in September I noticed amber ales. I associate amber ales with sweetness.
Below the Amber it has Bitter?

I actually thought it was a new beer, turns out it was renamed back in 2016 to sound more hip! I don’t remember Banks Bitter only being 3.4% pre Marstons.

It used to be a great beer and my go to, when they dropped the ABV it became watery and insipid, shame really.

Think that’s Mild for when Bitter is a young man’s drink (to be clear I genuinely like Mild but it’s even harder to get hold of in pubs than a pint of session bitter.

This rather nice Argentine blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon I tend to lean heavily towards French wine of late but this has reminded me that South America produces some excellent wines as well.

Starting off with a pint of what I really thought would be headed for the sink (little taste at bottling/kegging was disgustingly bitter) but has rather blown me away by how good it turned out.

From memory, it's a bit of a user upper, mainly Maris with a bit of light Munich and Pilsen, bittered with Motueka (a freebie from Cross My Loof) and quite a bit of Lorien as a late addition.

It's been in the keg for about a month, probably my best home-brewed beer to date, way too easy to drink and since it's only 4.4% I'll likely have a few!

Malt Miller pickup after watching the recent video. Soft and fruity fulfills the brief, I’m not sure what fruit though a bit of a strange one.

This is normally great but made the mistake of preceding it with an IPA so it now is comparable to a Biryani after a Madras!

This was very much a case of they had a distillery sales person giving out samples and me thinking yes that is actually rather nice I’ll take a bottle and it is extremely smooth for a ten year old Whisky, 50% ABV, suffice it to say drinking it now at home I have no regrets.
