I think that this is only for this particular kit - it used to finish at 1.020 and instructed you to bottle with no priming sugar. The last time I made it, the instructions said it would finish at 1.010/12 (can't remember exactly) and gave an amount of priming sugar to use. They must have changed the yeast in the kits. Not sure what the current instructions are as I haven't made it for 4 or 5 years.

@DavidDetroit as @Pavros says, the kit finished at 1.020 but gives 7.5%. In the new Brewferm packaging the Christmas ale is rebranded as Winter Ale. There is no added sugar in ferment and 49g (for 7l) priming sugar at bottling. They have reduced the fg to 1.015

Checking out my carbonation on my Citra IPA ready for Christmas, a few years ago I would have drank gallons of this stuff but the hops really don't do it for me any more.
This Golden ale is more like it, tagged with a triangle of Stilton cheese, though a triangle per pint could work out expensive, even though I got a good deal on the cheese. You Poms have got it made great beer AND cheese.

I can't get KBS anywhere. I was able to get the founder's porter.

It's more difficult to find over here too, usually you pay about $25 per 4 pack.

I had one last night it's really good, although I also had some really good imperial stouts from Buxton Brewery that were similar and maybe a bit better. They may have also had terroir while drinking in the brewery.

I finished for Christmas at about quarter to one this afternoon...I've had a pleasant couple of hours standing in queues..supermarket was dreadful! I still got bits to do tomorrow some visiting and haven't wrapped a single thing yet...do I drink beer or not?

Hell yes, I’ve found beer makes wrapping a breeze. I‘m having at least one more before I get started.

I totally got blindsided--Costco crowd was insane 1/2 hour after opening. The line went from the front to the back. Even so, I was suspicious of the "lemming effect" where people que up just because and not how the procedure should go. I did investigate, turns out I was correct and could have entered from a different point.
Good beer on sale.
Edit: wasn't sure but it looks like the UK is loaded with Costcos.

Are their any decent Aussie cheeses mate? I know the US, not traditionally known for decent cheese, has started to produce some nice artisan stuff in the last decade or so, but I've never heard of any Aussie stuff - you guys have a sizable dairy sector, don't you?

An Oude Geuze Boon Lambic to start off the night. Really surprised with this as I'm not fond of sours. It's more tart than all out sour, dry, fizzy, oaky and very refreshing.

Second pint of homebrewed bitter, brewed about twelve days ago and bottled on Saturday. Pretty good stuff for a quicky made with nottingham, most of it was dropped off at the old mans house today

Work is finished for the year. So no point going in lightly. First one is the beer 52 offering and it’s a stunner. Zoet & zalig applestrudel quad @9.3% apples in abundance with a hit of raisin’s and cinnamon. Fantastic opening for tonight.
