I’ve just finished the main brew-day activities and now resting the wort before getting it in the fermenter so it’s time for a pint. I’m trying to not tuck in to my latest beers until they’ve had at least a few more days of conditioning. That leaves me with Pilsner, Mild, and Stout. Last night was stout night so tonight….Mild.

Evening all and happy Friday.
Been a while since I posted and it’s good to be back.
This evening is my Hazy Jane clone (Crazy Jane). First time brewing with wheat or torrified oats and I’m loving it.
Over carbed this so have been burping it for the last few days to get it back down.

Dark Rock session Aussie Ale. Not bad but not quite four weeks in bottle yet and perhaps I am getting too used to AG. My AG Citra next which is still rather good!

This 75cl bottle has been winking at me from the wine rack for months so decided to crack it. It may be 8.4% but all the wine on the rack is about 13% so this is me being sensible and reducing my alcohol intake.

Been drinking this Simcoe and Cascade pale ale from a minikeg for last few weeks
but trying out the first of what I bottled - just as nice !

It's Friday.!
A small Saaz pale ale that turned out nothing like Czech Budvar.
A good light quencher that is still maturing - has to be quality controlled though .
Then soon to follow my Hoppy Pale Ale of Kent.
I can't wait.

Happy Friday one and all. First up tonight, a wheat beer kindly sent to me by @Jim Brewster. its got that bright wheat flavour that shines through highlighting lots of pepper and spice yeast character. It’s hopped with Goldings which works really well in a wheat beer, and one I’d never have thought of using myself! Great brew Jim, and thank-you:hat:

Northern Monk & Lervig - Norse Star III. A Black Forest Imperial Stout. For a £4 supermarket (Morrison) beer this is astounding.

Goes in a number 3 of my top supermarket beers. At number 1 is Vocation - Imperial Kirsch and number 2 is Vocation & Lervig - Norse Star II (vanilla, cacao, & hazelnut).

I'm convalescing from a heavy cold, and SWMBO'D says I must think of my liver.
(def. not Covid - did a home NHS test - negative ).
