i Fairness I would be devastated if it was Ireland and we lost to penalties some badly taken and some that should never have been taken. But it’s how it goes. Sleep now and wake up fresh in the morning my good fellow. 😜

Consoled myself the night before the big game with my Philly sour and kveik IPA.
I could see the penalties coming.

It‘s a tad murky and 27°C but it tastes like a warm bitter (nice earthy floral flavour with a good underlying bitterness) fermented out in 8 days with Omega Hot House yeast. No detectable off flavours and I think all being well I can expect to start drinking this by the weekend.

Only downside the yeast in question has formed a thick layer and round the side and at the bottom of the fermentor and is going to be a pain to clean.

Time now to restore some normality and I’m starting tonight with a guest ale from @Hopsteep

A nice dark stout, well carbonated and with a long-lasting tan coloured head. The aroma is roasty with coffee and a little dark fruit. The flavour is similar to start but as the ale warms and becomes less carbonated I’m also getting a little chocolate and a hint of black treacle. A nice stout to lift the spirits on a not-so-nice day. Thanks Hoppy. Cheers!

Glad you enjoyed! It’s probably more of a Porter than a stout (my fault) but very drinkable. Sadly the bottle conditioned ones got a bit carried away

Next up is a 7% Lemon & Rosemary Saison! from @samale

I’m excited and nervous in equal measure about this one (where have I recently said that before!) because I love lemon, and rosemary, and saison. I also know @samale might think he’s maybe overdone the rosemary.

The beer is quite hazy, is golden-amber in colour and has a thin white head

The aroma is actually really nice, I smell the lemon, the rosemary, and some spice although I’m not sure at the moment if this is coming from the rye or the yeast. I’m also getting sweet malt, albeit subtle.

😂 The rosemary is dominant in the flavour but you have to try these things. It isn’t nasty but it does kind of make this a rosemary ale! Hats off to you @samale for giving it a go, I might get my own back by sending you a bottle of Pathfinder flavoured with lemongrass, geranium and rose!

You have to try these things to see if they work or not. It's not bad but not something I will rush to make again 👍

You should dry some of the yeast out and freeze it, watch the David Heath Homebrew video on this if you haven't done it before. Works really well.

I had another pint of the GH Ruby Mild, which is really improving after a few weeks conditioning (well, fancy that eh).
The rather harsh alcohol kick to it when new has now disappeared and it’s become a smooth as Larry the Lounge Lizard… as @DocAnna noted, it’s got more than a hint of supermarket chocolate mousse about it this one: an uncannily accurate observation.
If I knew mild could be like this, I’d drink more of it.
