When we go to Cornwall my wife always likes a trip to St.Ives and my reward is that we get to spend time in a wonderful micropub on the sea front. They once had a cask beer called Antipodean that was amazing, shame yours doesn’t appear to be the same thing.
Hi H cask is always better than canned or bottled, it's not bad just to bitter for me

Having a can of Paolozzi Helles from Edinburgh beer factory, I’ve recently followed a Helles recipe and wanted to compare, purely for scientific purposes obviously. It’s a wee bit darker on colour, mine is about 2-3 this is maybe 6 or 7. Tastes similar, mine is a touch sweeter, probably on account of it finishing higher than target. View attachment 45878
And my own one now to check I remembered the taste correctly for an accurate comparison.

Still a bit sweet from the priming sugar. PB was the right way to go, pours really well.
Instant hit of almond and prunes, with a slight hint of raisin. The dry finish is detectable and no doubt will be there once the priming sugar is used up. Pleased with this so far.

Not sure about cherries in beer but fermented cherries in wine don't taste great at first. The 'cherriness' comes back later. The cherry wine I made for my DIL at Christmas is just about ok to drink now. I suppose in beer you'd be putting them in secondary so it'd be better.

If you like cherry flavoured drinks and haven’t tried it yet, I’d recommend this cracker! Beautiful - but only if you really like cherry! It’s a Belgian lambic beer and 3.5%.

Thought I had overshot the pre boil gravity again by 4 pts. Checked the refractometer, nope it was out by 4 pts😬
