Galena
Landlord.
I wasn't going to drink tonight, but the end of a brew day and a nice sunny afternoon albeit a bit breezy and decided to go for a Czech Pilsner. I have never been a lager drinker but this brew is growing on me.
It's a bit young and suffered chill haze since being in the fridge overnight but I don't care about that..it only had a bittering with magnum,40g of Chinook hopstand and a 60g dry hop. Not as complex as the 3c but it is rather good!Is it as good as the 3C? I’ll be kegging my first batch of 3C on Wednesday evening.
I love a Czech Pilsner. I didn’t really get lagers & pilsners at all until I made my own. I know its potentially a myth about bottle colour but I suspect it's the green bottles. They smell really strong of hops but the smell is also a bit skunky. I'm also pretty sure almost every ale that doesnt come in a brown bottle tastes bland as hell too.How do they do it? Colour, carbonation, initial hops? This was brewed at Heineken France, I suppose, although there's no indication on the label.
Making the most of the afternoon sun in the garden with the familly and a couple of bottles
of Cabernet Sauvignon - very pleasant !

I see you are a regular Pilsner drinker and I agree I had brewed this for summer for visitors but I don't see it lasting that long. It's just a pity it's such a long process to brew.I love a Czech Pilsner. I didn’t really get lagers & pilsners at all until I made my own. Beautiful!
I have never used that yeast before..is that for your Single?@dave_77
Made a starter last night with the wyeast 1214. It says it's slow to start. Not even a bubble tonight

Tasty,lip-smackin,juicy! Full head retention and great lacing. It's a bit young and suffered chill haze since being in the fridge overnight but I don't care about that..it only had a bittering with magnum,40g of Chinook hopstand and a 60g dry hop. Not as complex as the 3c but it is rather good!
I have but a meagre amount of SAISON! left...I shall join you!
Yes it's the first of my run of Belgian Beers. I wanted to try a different yeast to my last run using wlp530.I have never used that yeast before..is that for your Single?
I will look into that, cheersMy advice - switch to MJ M64 California Lager Yeast. It’s all I use now, 12 days in the fermenter and drinking it a week after fermentation.
That sounds too good to be true, @Hazelwood Brewery , but I'm going to look into that as well as I've pretty much missed the boat for lagering temperatures now. Well, I reckon I can sneak a crafty one in, if I'm quick. My advice - switch to MJ M64 California Lager Yeast. It’s all I use now, 12 days in the fermenter and drinking it a week after fermentation.
