Tasting nice now..wasn't sure if I had overdone the melanodian but is smoothing out nicely. I'm bottling some Belgian pale and lager this week so I'll get some in the postLooking at maybe brewing this tomorrow night. All going well
After that it's a run of Belgian beers

CoolSounds good
I will have a black IPA and a doppelbock to send in return.
Starting with the big guns tonight, this 8% DIPA from Good Things. Itβs quite intense but to me is lacking the balance, juiciness and smoothness of @dan125 βs DIPA.

Commercial DIPA.... Always a gamble
Planning to bottle some lager and WCIPA later in the week. Will get at least one of them in the post to you.
Tinned confit is a treat. Ditto cassoulet. I have a fondness for bottled fish soup too, the red stuff as murky as the water in a Breton harbour.18 months since my jaunt to France. At the end of treasure brought back. Duck confit in a tin and Leffe Royal Blond.
The Leffe is sweet but not as sweet as others. Fuller flavour than regular blond, spicy fruity notes. Easy drinking. 7.5%. Pleased it's a 750ml corked bottle, added to the theatrics opening the bottle.
Agree. I brewed a dipa before Christmas with 85 ibuβs and it was deffs more bitter tasting than jack hammer. Not like brew dog to over hype their beers thoughA can of 7.2% Jackhammer.
What I do not understand is the IBU's are anything from 125 to 250 depending on where you look and yes it has bitterness but if I did a beer with that IBU I would not be able to drink it?
Ibuβs in a beer can go as high as you can make them go but perceived bitterness is where we reach our threshold of being able to taste themAren't IBU' s theoretical after a certain point?
Oh, me too! Have a Belgian Blonde bubbling away, Saison to brew next weekend. It's good to know I'm on trend.Looking at maybe brewing this tomorrow night. All going well

First off, I read that as going to the local pub for a fight. Think I'd better put my glass down and retire...I went to the local brewpub for a flight, it was great
Not sure Clint but sometimes the IBU's lie to your taste buds. I have had low ones where people say its quite bitter and high ones where its there but not as much as you would have thought.Aren't IBU' s theoretical after a certain point?
I have a Saison fermenting. Going to brew a Trappist single next weekOh, me too! Have a Belgian Blonde bubbling away, Saison to brew next weekend. It's good to know I'm on trend.
