Yes. Also what the tax man uses to work out how much duty you have to pay if you go commercial. Tax man is never wrong

Divide difference between OF and FG by 7, and round down. Close enough for most purposes.

I always use the Cooper's calculation (OG - FG) / 7.46.
1060 - 1014/ 7.46 = 6.1%, then add 0.5 for priming.
I've seen the other calcs, but this was my first and has stuck with me.

That’s almost the same calculation done differently although dividing by 7.62 would be almost spot-on!

A pint of another of my not-ready-yet beers. This one is a saison, 5.1% abv, about 25 IBU, flavoured with Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo hops and fresh orange peel.

Nice and clear and it has a good head on it. Just need the flavours to clean up a little more to be at it’s best.

After 3 weeks in the keg I'm amazed how hazy my rye pale still is considering it's just pale malt, rye malt and cara gold.
Might have to start using a touch of rye in my neipas

Just washing down the takeaway with some coopers irish stout lightly carb'd so there's just a tingle on the tounge wasent deliberate just didn't put enough sugar in while priming, it's good all the same though

I don't know who's stupid idea a midweek roast was, (mine) but I'm particularly grateful for a citra/mosaic IPA after roasting myself in the kitchen for the last few hours.

This Hobgoblin is not bad and although it doesn’t taste the same it somehow reminds me of Timmy Taylor’s.

Hobgoblin Gold is defiantly one that I think is better if you get it cask, odd as normal Hobgoblin I prefer the bottled.

Totally agree, but I also think they have tampered with the recipe, as it used to be a passable APA kind of thing, but I've tried it recently and it just didn't have the same hop taste, IMHO.

You’re right, it’s more malty than hoppy - but very nice all the same.
