Warming up to the rather intimidating 11% imperial stout that was behind door one of my advent calendar, with a glass (or two) of my H Blanc and mosaic pale that I hoped would have a similar flavour profile to Duration's excellent Turtles All The Way Down....
Not bad for a first attempt but lacking a bit of hop intensity

Looks quite dark for a west coast. Any rye in there? Might account for the colour and peppery taste

Really happy with Siren's opening offering for advent. I've not had this before, it's full of coconut upfront, with a hint of lemongrass and then pineapple, giving way to lasting roastiness with a hint of warmth.

Looks good, I do like a BSB Ale. The beer and boots festivals they used to organise 10 years or so ago were the first social commitment on my calendar back then!
