I’ve been missing catching up here, and missing this …. Due to a change in how I’ve been working in Orkney I’ve not been out to Helgies for about 3 months. Unfortunately I’m cycling to the ferry in about 50 min so I’m not sure how wise this is. I should also admit this is the second. The first sort of evaporated before I got the chance to photo it .

This is Swannay brewery’s Dark Munro. It’s a bit sweet for my taste but at least it might last longer than the Island Hopper which missed the photo.

Been sitting sipping a few in the house after a couple of scraggy bay in the pub. Didn’t want to be the first to post. Here’s what I’m having now. From m&s very nice.

Well, I poured myself a son's present Brugge Halve Mann beer, and SWMBO'D asked in a meaningful way where HER preprandial was. (if you're married you'll know what I mean ).
So a G&T with freshly squeezed lime juice was rapidly prepared for her.
Phew!
I survive and will shortly be allowed dinner.
Japanese style Monkfish tails.
Can't wait.

A proper way to have a gin. I much prefer lime to lemon.
And love monkfish. Can get it in the local fishing village straight from the boats. Fresh and tasty.

We went to the pub this afternoon and it seems everyone was buying me beers - nice but deadly. Home now and I’m having a best bitter, feeling quite squiffy so in need of bratwursts!
