£8.50 for Fish and Chips at the Olympic Park. They must be having a laugh. At all those punters going. All I can say is it won't be me.

they're not allowed to sell chips on their own either because mcdonald's have the exclusive rights to do so. amazing if you ask me.

Went to Hyde park torch relay finale concert yesterday, Securtiy checks were very stringent:
1st guard = full body sweep.
2nd guard = bag check empty all contents.
3rd guard metal detector wand and empty all pocket contents.

so that was reasurring!

cons:
could take any drinks or food in ! "good job its not summer then" i said to the guard ;)

prices:

soft drink /water 500ml £2.50
s*** beer £4.50 pint
this was the real kick in the b***s 2 chicken nuggets and chips for kids £17!!!!

All this aside great day didn't really feel at all "olympic" before yesterday.
Oh and Dizzy Rascal is a potty mouth!

ahh before I forget, when we go down to London we usually park in Park Lane car park as its just outside the congestion zone and cheaper than train. Bonkers eh?
except strangley the price had gone froman average £26 per day to £240 at the nearest car park to park lane as this was full! who said the olympics wont bring money in? Robin hood would have been proud ;)

Its not about sport anymore is it. All got out of hand :(

 Tell me that's a typo!

Hurry up lads, I believe you can still get cheap tickets for the show tonight for £1600 or nice ones for £2012.
Go on threat the wife and kids, with parking and food you could do it all for less that ten grand.
Don't know where some people get their cash .

  to all of the above. So the olympics is just for rich people then? That's what I thought. I'm so glad I live nowhere near the place, it's bad enough having to hear about it all.

Also, I'd read somewhere only Visa cards could be used at the events, because Visa is sponsoring the place. Erm, what if you don't have one?? And what if you don't like fish or McD's??

Was it ever??

No typo I'm afraid :-(

Got free tickets from work .Didnt realise car parks had joined Jack Sparrow's crew!

Train for 2 adults and 2 kids £85
Food and drinks etc £70

Just have to eat beans on toast for rest of month  Not rich by any means just work 60+hours a week to provide for family hence my name being "Baldbrewer" ;)

Still 2 happy kids have a great memory , can't really put a price on that .
Just hope they remember this when they pick my care home

Have fun B, there are/were tickets at the lower end selling for £20.12, those posh ones would probably be taken by Bankers, I wouldn't want to sit with them..

I thought £26 as a standard price was bad enough, and he must have meant £40 as an Olympic rip-off.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to leave it on a double yellow line, have it towed away and impounded and reclaim it later in the day?
