I have just bottled my first attempt at making wine and it doesn't taste too bad so far. I only got 4.5 bottles out of it but I am happy with that.

I now have two questions.

1) I am guessing the half bottle will not be any good if stored so am I going to try and enjoy it tonight?
2) How do I store the bottles now is there a specific room temp and do they need to be horizontal?

Thanks in advance.

1) yep that's what I usually do! if you want to save it in future get a few 250ml bottles from morrisons etc, they come with flavoured water in.

2) out of the light and in the cool as best as possible. they don't have to be horizontal, hopefully they are sediment free so you can just open and pour as you desire :thumb:

Thanks Rob looks like they will be going in the garage for a while wrapped in a towel just to make sure there not too cold.

I think I will much prefer drinking the half bottles than saving them in miniature bottle lol :D

That's what I got out of my first kit too which was bottled earlier in the week, my half bottle went the same way, didn't touch the sides lol :drink:

As for the keeping, if they're in cork bottles you might want to make sure that the bottom of the cork has wine touching it rather than air, stops the cork from drying out (i.e. store it even on a slight angle)

Thanks for the info guys,

Dont think it tastes very strong after the half bottle last night but I am gonna leave it a couple of months before trying a full bottle.
