Excuse my ignorance but I would like to know what the difference is between a welded and unwelded Corny Keg?
I see some good deals online but before I purchase I was curious of the difference and which one would be better...ty

Go unwelded if you can. Even the sellers themselves recommend this. The higher grade kegs also shouldn't have rubber on the base that marks flooring etc.
Welded effectively means at some point in it's lifetime it has been welded to fix structural damage, and does not refer to the factory weld that all kegs have near the top.
Potentially they are harder to clean, and nasties can hide in the weld.

They are advertised as selling asWelded 19l Cory & Unwelded 19l Corny

Same question not answered if not welded how are the made?
and does not refer to the factory weld that all kegs have near the top.
All kegs are welded when first made, top and bottom as you say. Internally these welds are smooth.
The question refers to a class of refurbished kegs, welded, which are cheaper than higher grades.
The repair welds in the applicable refurb kegs are not smooth, so welded kegs are best avoided for beer.

Welds are smooth because they a ground. If kegs are Aluminium then that is difficult to weld compared to steel so any pre manufacture welding is going to be dubious.

They are stainless steel

I bought one so called grade A keg, it has a weld but is above the beer line, the place i bought it did offer a replacement in fairness to them, i have had no problems with it, had the weld been lower down the keg i would have changed it
