I haven't brewed for a few months, work got in the way, and last weekend there was an 8 foot drift against the barn door.

I'm getting hitched in June so time to start brewing for the reception, in true tight Yorkshire fashion we are doing most of the reception ourselves using our barn as the venue,

First beer is going to be called Wedding Tackle, not sure on recipe yet but probably a lightweight session ale around 3.8 to 4%. Don't want the band getting trolleyed before their turn!

Any suggestion for recipe and an appopriate name/recipe for a different brew, may even be a lager seeing as I have a load of pilsner malt.

Cheers
Andy

A salute to your partner.....

Fair maiden.... Exmoor Gold brewed a little less strong ( normally 4.6% )

A nice yellow golden brew which disappeared rather quickly.

Leave the wedding tackle alone till later... :D

You should have seen the face of the girl who designed our wedding invites when I asked her to paint my Wedding Tackle!

She's an artist friend and we are asked her at the launch of her latest pictures at the local art gallery. Took her a while to calm down after we let her know we just wanted her to design the pump clip, she had never had a commission like that before :D

Fair Maiden - nice idea, like that.

Too late on the Wedding Tackle, it's been announced!

Slight problem, asked the betrothed about the name and she said she's not fair and she's not a maiden (we already have 2 kids ;) )

she suggested Frock and Roll, any more ideas :D

ok

Make a strong version

Fair Maiden XXX as in ex-maiden.... :D

Brewers Troop...a bit more than a session ale at say 5%...moreish hops that leaves the drinker with the "pushing rope uphill" issue that often happens to the older gentleman on wedding nights

I like the suggestions guys, could also have Bridale Suite

regarding the pushing rope up hill problem, maybe I need to brew some Best Man Bitter laced with viagra? Or maybe just indulge in the heady aroma of the Maid of Honour stout ;)

What about a lighter ABV...say about 3.8% with really fruity hops like Citra or Amarillo...you could call it a stiffener...Less likely to make old percy point at the shoes??

Or maybe the old engineers brew...nut tightener..

just realised my stag weekend was just down the road from Dronfield, it was in Bakewell last weekend, I could have dropped around for a pint of Dronfield, with about 10 others :D

Always welcome...the more folk that drink this stuff the less I have to drink...Feel like Ive been on the wagon for months!!

Next brew now settled on....Dronfield Cascade...The Brewers gold went down the sink, was just too sharp and hoppy
