Doesn't everybody just use 'Password1'?

at my last job I used to cycle through that. 'Password2' and 'Password3' until it would let me start again... Everybody in my department did the same so we could all hotswap without logging in and out. Security at its finest :-D

A retired IT security specialist speaks:
It's great until somebody in eastern Europe logs in remotely to your PC and grabs everything they can from the server(s) you were connected to. And maybe your bank.
Unless of course you have remote login disabled. You do, don't you?

Midwife: what would you like to call him?

Mother: "Adam", after his father.

Midwife: I'm sorry, that name is already taken. You can have "Adam784"; "SmithAdam45"; or "kdwunxhdk"

:D

i hate reseting my passwords, as i have an online back up for files on our pcs(3) and photos on phones(3) i have to change my password every for months i have update them all and there are not in one house and linked calendar on 2 phones and 2 laptops.

I have 4 accounts at work (all with different levels of access) password change every 28 days

Rules

At least 8 Characters
At least 1 Number
At least 1 Capital letter
At least 1 lower case letter
at least 1 punctuation mark
No more than 4 Characters from your previous 5 passwords
Password cant be the same as your previous 30 passwords

And you think you have it bad

Actually I now find it really funny when websites ask we to change my password and then wont let me use a secure one . . . insisting that I simplify it

Windows login, must have at least 1 capital and 1 number, 6 or more characters, may not be repeated inside 30 changes, has to be changed every 6 days

MRP login, 12 characters, may not start with a number, must have a number in it, may not have the same character more than once, must be changed every 90 days

Oracle log in, must have a capital, and a number, never has to change (I can get into the MRP from here, but shhh)

Corporate website, same requirements as Windows, but changes every 30 days

Plus a half dozen project files that are 'restricted' and have very odd passwords.

I now have a file on my desktop called sanity, it has all my usernames and passwords in it, and no, it hasn't got a password to open :D

This laptop has got the external login disabled, the company stuff hasn't so the IT support bods can get in, fix what we mess up and get out without leaving their cubby hole :)
