I'm confused. I'm doing kits and concidering doing the next step. Just had a little search and can't seem to find anything. Is extract brewing just using DME instead of sugar to make up the kit, like the 2 can kits???

No, extract is using either dried malt extract, or unhopped liquid malt extract, and boiling it up with hops.

Make sense? It's like full mash/All grain brewing, without the mashing.

Is that like using the copper malt extract that you add to kits instead of sugar and adding hops to that? This sounds interesting. how do I get into that? Like recipes and what hops to use as I've never gone any more elaborate than kits when it comes to beer

Have a search on the site there is a very good extract stout how to guide :thumb: :thumb:
