Apologies for the cross-post, but can anyone help me to work out what the specific water hardness figures below mean?
I fed the postcode into the checker on their website (http://www.dwrcymru.com/public_dwr/index.asp) and it yielded the info below:

Avg hardness: 130
Hardness: 52
Classification: Slightly Hard
Degrees Clark: 9.1
Degrees German: 7.28
I'm not familiar with these figures: nowhere does it mention CaCO3, HCO3, or any kinds of specific mineral hardness, so any ideas on how best to treat water like this, if at all?

From what I can see (and doing a search on the Degrees Clark) it looks like.....

The average hardness is the CaCO3 (PPM or mg/L)
The Hardness is the amount of Calcium.

I'm basing it on this:

Your water being close to that of Llangollen (lovely place and all)

That's great, thanks. I haven't bothered with treating my water since I moved away from London but was wondering if it was worth doing so.
