Having justt received my new water bill form severn trent, i have found that the greedy ***** have put mine up AGAIN, i'm not on a meter, and don't want one either, but come on, £320.25 a year!

How about everyone else, have youhad an increase, and do you pay more too???

ours has just gone up £20 .00 so its £250.oo a year,Theres only 2 of us in the house and they said we can have a water meter we said no as the bills would be very high with all the brewing we do :thumb:

I worked out that to brew 23l of BIAB beer costs 50p in water for cleaning, sanitising, brewing, washing and sanitising bottles and clearing up again.

Brewing doesn't add much to your water consumption at all...

On a meter for years, bills always no more than 2/3 the neighbours, and there's more of us, and a lot of wastage when brewing. Even when the dishwasher went nuts and spewed water out at mains pressure for 3 hours our bill was still way less than theirs. Get a meter!

I think ours would be best on the rates still, there are 2 of us, so bath every night + the baby needs the bath too, then dishwasher, washing machine, brewing, cleaning the car. lol

Baths are the killer. We shower but also have the occasional soak + dishwasher, washing machine kiddiewink to bath etc...

+ brewing.

Metered (Thames water) is MUCH cheaper. :thumb:

Won't entertain a meter as we would probably use more, what with the dishwasher, baths, washer, car washing, brewing, and filling our 10ft paddling pool up!, plus, connecting up the 'new' shed up for water too, so with a meter, the cost would prob be more!

How come i pay way more than you lot!!!!

Dont know if they still do it but you use to get a 3 month trial of a water meter to see if it reduces the bill, if at the end of that you wanted to go back you could, that was 10 years ago so dont know if they still offer it

It's 10 months here for the trial!

Ours has only gone up by £8. Suppose I should be happy with that considering some of the jumps mentioned on here!

Get a well  We have no water bills at all and the water's better :D

Bloody 'ell, might just have a look at a meter, just read the bumph and it states "you can switch back to rateable value within 13 months of the meter being fitted" :!:

Our bill for this coming year ...... £522.81

Wow, thats a lot, £522!!!, i'd make sure i got my moneys worthg, get the hose pipe going, i do, sod em, £320 i pay, and i will get my moneys worth this year as well, think is, the other side of the village, their water bill is £190, and thats for a 3 bedroomed pit house!, mines a old council house!
