Right, bear in mind I'm a Scotsman before I ask this.
Is it a recipe for disaster to return the beer I drain off when checking the gravity (to the fermenter)?
I'm finding that I need about 200ml in the tube when I take a gravity reading, so a couple of bottles go down the sink from each batch...

Either make sure everything is sterile and put it back or just put the Hydro straight into the fermentor and waste nothing :thumb:

Dont pour it down the sink use it as quality control sample and drink it :D

If you plan on replacing it into the FV make sure every thing has been sanitized to prevent contamination.

If you continue to throw away the contents of the trial jar the brewing police will get you ;)
Drink it :drink:

I always drop mine into the FV, once the main krausen has died down. :thumb:

Bear in mind that if you have a small opening (ooh er!) it can be a bit hard to read.
