Ah, I've never tried it on its own, always have it mixed with lemonade. Am I right in assuming that the Grey Goose ones aren't concentrated? I'm definitely going to have to try and get some now!

Actually, now I think about it, all the Absolut ones I have, even when mixed with lemonade are very strong flavoured, which makes me think they are concentrated. Amazing what you can realise when half drunk!

No the Grey Goose ones are designed to be drank either neat or over ice. A little water won't take too much away but always have them as cold as possible. Mixing it with anything would be pointless, it's not a vodka for vodka and coke drinkers. Straight, rocks or little water drinkers only really.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it would be lovely with coke or lemonade... but you would be as well with a much cheaper brand as you wouldn't notice the difference. The quality of the drink is shown in drinking it neat.

100% with you there...it would take a philistine to add coke to a premium vodka. :nono:

Next time I get some I shall try it from the freezer with a bit of ice. The only few times I've had it I had lemonade with it. I'll get my coat.....

The Absolut flavoured vodkas are better mixed with some lemonade, as I said the flavour is massively concentrated for just that purpose. Straight up Absolut (non flavoured) is fairly decent straight though. OK it's not as smooth as the top choices but I'd have no qualms about drinking it as is over ice.

Stored in the freezer and drank over ice is my preference, lovely stuff :D

Snap....thanks for the link..worth the read...

I have a mate who lives in Poland, and when we visit, wow some of their vodka is like velvet.

Agreed!

This stuff can be pretty good too:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krupnik

My grandpa made krupnik many years ago (he died in 1982), I still have few bottles of his krupnik and nut vodka with mead.

Wow... a snifter of one of those would be well worth it.
