vimto cider finishing

hey all. i'm making some vimto cider and i want to carbonate it. it is still fermenting but do i have to wait until its completely finished fermenting before i rack and store it in the demijohn with a rubber bung.

i would have thought so no point transferring etc if its still fermenting
