Just done another check and the SG is down to 1020 from 1052 -thats a 32 point drop and after 7 days, is this enough yet or should i leave a bit longer? Its a lovely brown colour tastes ace and is clear as a bell apart from some yeastie clumps floating around.
Just wondererd if its time to syphon off and rack into secondary yet?

Windsor should come down lower than that. Mine has come down to 1.011 from 1.050 (although I was only expecting 1.014). I would give it another 2 or 3 days.

Edit:

Read what's written before putting fingers into gear, Eddie.

No problem with racking to secondary, but do not bottle yet until you get 2 or 3 successive SG readings the same. It's possible that you mashed at a higher temperature than I did and therefore extracted more unfermentables.

Well i have to say - AG 1 is a success! I conditioned it in those 5ltr cans that are all over the forum 2 weeks ago. 1 week in warm 1 week in fridge and its absolutely mint - and i aint a beer drinker. will post pics later

Here we go - Kegged and conditioned using an Effes party keg - had to drink the original first!!
Then it turned into this- -

Gave my Turkish neighbor a shout and gave him a pint to try - this is how he paid for it - ha ha

I then gave him a bottle of wine/sherry i made some time back - made from pure dark grape concentrate - so he gave me a box of these

Nice to see the barter system is alive and well. My brother-in-law did my mash tun plumbing for me a couple of months ago - today I bottled his payment - 18 litres of lager. It would have been 18.5 but I drank some (and I'm not normally a lager drinker but this stuff is lovely).

Still, it's wasted on him - he likes the swill at the pub - Carling etc.
