I love the fact that if you home brew you are never short of an excuse to buy some kit.

I’ve wanted a vacuum sealer for a while, largely for curing meat..another story, so this week one popped up on Amazon for £17 inc. 20 bags and I couldn’t resist even if I thought it was going to be useless. Well it arrived and it has been brilliant. Enjoyed its arrival, at my office, and we had a ball vacuum packing each other’s calculators, pens and car keys but since then it’s been great.

Did a brew yesterday and had a whole series of 100gram bags of hops. So easy to grab 25 grams or whatever seal the rest and chuck in the freezer. A good addition to any brewshed.

I totally agree. I love mine. Sealing hop packets is ideal. I also use it for food fermentation experiments, food storage and poaching fish...

I'm sorely tempted to buy one soon, partly for storing brewing spares but also so that my grainfather can double up as a sous vide machine.

Brilliant. I hadn't thought that step ahead but the temperature control vs a pan on the hob is perfect. Great capacity too.

I can't say it was an idea I came up with, but it's one I plan to run with! Juicy steak and moist chicken breast, all served up with some homebrew beer. What's not to like!

Do you have a link?

Sorry tried but if you search for Eivotor Vacuum Sealer it is the Amazon Choice, £17, you know it’s a quality item just from the name! But a cheap way to start.
