yeah but if it was me in this situation.. i'd prefer the hubby to get me a new washine machine :D

The problem I have is that when I bought Her a horse last year I told her that there were going to be no more presents for at least three years. The dilemma is that if I buy her the new washing machine for Christmas, is She going to expect me to buy her more presents :hmm: :hmm:

Please help me I am really confused.

She' washing machine had broken,

I went into town and bought She a new one

I arranged for it to be delivered today, and spent 30 minutes plumbing it in

She came in and I said "Happy Christmas, look what I got for you?"

So, can any one please explain why I am now typing this from the shed at the bottom of the garden?? :hmm:

I dream of having a shed at the bottom of the garden which I can get sent to

I think you made the mistake of it being a present. When SWMBO became her indoors, I sold my car to buy a washing machine from that day forth the washer was mine and the car hers. Now one day my accountant said I could pay myself a nice fat bonus so I trabsfered said funds from the business account to the joint account. Two days latter SWMBO bought a new car. I questioned ownership only to be told it was hers because her car had been put against the new one. The fact that the bulk of the finance came from my blood sweat and tears is evidently an insignificant detail.

So Tony don't be confused surely you should realise by now she is a woman, and women don't like inappropriate early Christmas presents.

Gotta say I'm a big fan of our Dyson. We have the DC04 Animal and it's been just that since new, many years ago (+5). We've only changed the original filters once, replaced the original with a cheaper part and gotta say we've noticed, it needs bloody cleaning/soaking and drying every month

you should have just said you replaced the washing machine.. and left the present bit out

I think it partly depends on the carpet; most vacs work okay on most parts of my house but one carpet somehow holds onto fluff and only a rotating brush'll get it.

That said I have a panasonic vac and that was (for me) frankly pants all round. The hose falls out if it rotates (which it does easily), the cable retraction system can never manage the last meter or so (in spite of all the warnings about how fierce its supposed to be), its bagless and the filters need cleaning almost every other use, it seems to have a very limited duty cycle and so almost always starts to reduce its own power as you use it, the on/off button has started sticking on and the handle for picking the thing up with forms one half of a larger handle - the other half of which instead pulls out the dust collection chamber and sprays dust everywhere...

I got a £50 wickes wet and dry vac last year, its a fairly cheapo thing as you'd imagine (it's 'tools' wouldn't suit domestic use) and i did get the extra foam filter, but its usefully powerful and good for sucking up stuff like wet hops from the boiler, the dregs from brewing vessels, and with the bag fitted even plaster dust and fine rubble.

Cheers
Kev
