Hi all, has anyone successfully cultured yeast from a Franziskaner bottle? Is it just a case of adding some boiled, cooked DME solution to the yeast cake and watching it grow?
Cheers, Tim

A lot of the German breweries will bottle condition with a different yeast strain (usually a lager one) to their primary fermenting strain. I think Franziskaner is one of them.

Not sure if Fraziskaner is lagered for any extended period of time, if it is then I'd imagine that when they bottle it after the lagering period then you'd need to add additional yeast to achieve the fermentation in the bottle.
