slightly off topic I'm afraid but i have seen some recipes calling for Torrified Wheat, what is this ? is there something else i could use from my local supermarket instead if i cannot get to my local home-brew shop?
Its basically used for head retention (possibly also body and maybe adds some sort of flavour). You possibly could use shredded wheat but I havent looked into that enough to see if you could sub it out. But what you could do is go to holland & barrett (or any other health food shop) and buy some flaked barley as this is used for head retention too and also adds body
