I am new to this forum so hello everyone!!! I have been brewing beer for about 3 years now mostly kits but just recently started building my own recipes with mostly good batches and a few odd batches. I am trying to understand what certain verbiage means like ibu's and alpha. I am flipping through a home brewers catalog and don't understand what a "high alpha" means. Can anyone help me understand a little better the world of home brewing?

Take a look at the Glossary Link above it gives help for abbreviations etc.

Good Luck

Mark, as a novice to brewing, what a great blog you have started there! I look forward to more additions, saved it to my faves & as I write this I imagine quaffing a pint or two of my own (kit made) beers, learning and relating to the information provided.
Top Job!

Thanks, i'm pretty new to blogging so its great to hear nice feedback.

The next one requires a little more research so might be a week or so away.
