i got both of these in bottles today with about a level tea spook of sugar but when starting to brew the surfers reward i added an extra 500g of brewing sugar the cornish ale is at about 4.5% and the surfers reward at about 4.8% so now going to leave at first taste the surfers tasted a bit watery but the sugar should help that will let u lnow in about 3 weeks on first propper test

Will likely be very fizzy with a whole tea spoon of sugar per bottle. Usually ale has only half a spoon.

now then i had a bottle of this the other night just as a little tester to see how it was getting on was almoth clear after only a week in bottles and i tell u what it was bloody crackin a bit young reminden me of the woodfords wheary a bit nice little fruity tast and good body and a head that lasted vertualy all the way down the glass so i will leave it some were cold for a few weeks and it will be even better will post pics when its done

Bought this kit and it's now been in the FV for 10 days even though it states 4-6. Temperature has been a constant 17/18 degrees, so it should be ready for the next step soon?

Put it in the PB yesterday. Tried some at the same time. A bit cloudy as expected although the taste was pleasant and had a honey taste - to me it did but my son said different.

I didn't do a hydrometer reading before, but did one yesterday and it was 1010.

In case anyone is interested and looking to do one of these ....

It's been in the PB for 3 weeks. Tried some today as I'd also PB a John Bull IPA and set up a new one of Wherry in the FV.

Tasted nice but was very flat. Had a quick search and have now resealed the Surfers PB as it pin points that as the problem. Fingers crossed it solves the issue because other than it been flat I can't wait to get stuck into is ;-)

This has to be one of my favourites to date. Which means I'm either easily pleased and happy with the end result, or, I need to do some experiment with some more kits. I think the latter sounds better
