I've brewed similar stuff before, but as I'm doing this to style, it would be good to get some opinions on these two brews as I'll be concentrating on the figures to do with my new setup on brewday rather than the beer itself :thumb:

Don't worry about the strange figures. I have it all under control with BIAB calculators - it's a large water volume because I'm likely to lose a gallon to boil off. The IBU, colour and volumes should be accurate-ish.

First up we have a Scottish Heavy...I'm adding 2.5L more water than usual, and I'll be caramelizing this (that's about 1/5th of the total volume.) High mash temp on this one to get a full malty body.

Notes:
------
Add 18L total mash water. Remove 3L prior to boiling and after mashing, and caramelize on the hob.

And secondly, an IPA. I hear NS should be used as bittering hops due to their stupid alpha, should I switch this around at all? I want something in the vein of sierra nevada, punk ipa - a really big aromatic hoppy one. Crits on the hop schedule are totally welcome, and just for the record, that would be 50g cascade it it were 5 gallon :thumb:

Trying to catch up on the forum after holls, I take it you've done these two brews by now Rob. How did it go? I did a high hop IPA a while back and used Chinook, it came out wonderful, they added a slight lemon zest to the pint.. :thumb:
