ok here we go iv got
x4 asda 100% apple juice
x2 asda orange/peach/and passion fruit..
x1 kg of silver spoon ...
now heres the thing im going to use youngs super wine yeast compount ...
how much to use is it a teaspoon full...

iv been looking at vids of people doing this on the net ...
they dont add anything but the yeast not even sugar...

i dont wont it more than 5% so how much sugar do i add ...
theres only 6 ltrs of juice all in all...
4 ltr in the dj and 2 ltrs in the scumpy bottle when i sort out my air lock for it ..

also do i need to add tannin /pectolase/

they say no in the vids but i have got it so do i need it...
if so how much of each ...

plus iv seen how there djs overflow in the first few days i was wondering could i put it all in a fv just till it finishes the first few days then put it in my glass dj/scumpy bottle ...

just a thought ...
heres my stuff...

Mix the juices and measure the OG - anything more than 1.040 and it'll be more than 5%, as with the super wine yeast it's likely to go to 1.000 or below...so you probably won't need any sugar.

so just the juice and the yeast then nothing else...
do i put it in the fv fisrt few days or not ...

Using the sugar content on your cartons work out how much total sugar you have and how much liquid.
Add it into the third calculator down on here:
http://www.hotsaucedepot.com/Calculators-C108.aspx
That will give you your final gravity assuming it brews out .990(?)
I don't add sugar at all and stain about 5% TBH you may even have to dilute your juice.
I add 1 tspn of tannin per gallon, equally you could use strong tea.
Keep us posted Mick!! :thumb:

I would add tannin most definately preferably wine tanin from your LHBS and malic acid as well both will make the cider less insipid. :thumb:

Malic is what is found in apples naturally (but not in high enough quantities in carton juice). If yo =u are not going for malolalactic fermentation then citric would probably do. Use 1 tsp of malic and 1 tsp of acid per gallon.

I was comparing sugar content of the various apple juices on the Sainsbury's web site earlier. Everything they sell is about 100g/litre, which using the calculator link above comes out at 5.9%

Are you going for a sweet cider? As the orange, peach and passion fruit is a juice drink so it will most liking have sweeteners .
