So , I've been suffering a bad bout of bronchitis lately, I think I'm on the other side of it now, but its really knocked me low, no thanks I think to the Actifed cough meds, which was like taking a sedative and really not pleasant. In the end I had to give it up and got to thinking what I could take. Occasionally I get boils which they try to give me antib's for, but I find the best cure is turmeric, a heaped teaspoon in 1/2pt of water washed down with another 1/2pt of clean water. Its a really good Ayurvedic blood cleanser. So I tried that, and checked it out on the net, apparently its a good first-line defense against bronchitis, and it has dried up the gunk coming off my chest very effectively. Just thought I'd pass that on if anyone needs it :)

Turmeric is a very effective antiseptic, in India they smear it into open wounds like we would use Savlon. Works a treat although gives you a nice yellow stain for a while :nah:

Oh yeah, curries can be so so healthy if you avoid all the Ghee and butter, just think of all those spices, chilli, garlic, cumin, ginger, turmeric, coriander (seed and leaf), onion, in a nice rich vinegar and tomato sauce and a good bit of lamb, classic vindaloo.

I can feel one coming on ove the w/e, best get started now!

When we lived in Thailand my wife went for a turmeric massage, and came out looking like an Oompa Loompa for about 3 days

I've always said curries are a feel good food not only because they taste great but also because each of the ingredients is health beneficial in its own right so when mixed together and made to taste beautiful it's all good, imagine going to the docs feeling crap and he gave you a prescription for the curry house, "have one curry a day for the next week" that should sort you lol

It's OK going for these alterantive treatments, but don't overdo it, tumeric, cumin, coriander and garlic ...........
