Just started a DJ of my first TurboCider, i popped to my local (16 miles away) Wilkinson's and brought a DJ and yeast,

3.5 litres Tesco Apple Juice - Add final litre in 5 days i believe
5g Ale Yeast - to much?
1 tsp Yeast Nutrient
1/2 tsp Pectolase - Needed?

Give that ago

Hi. Pectolase not necessary if it is clear juice. You should also add some tannin. If you haven't got any put two teabags in 250 ml of hot water or hot apple juice for about twenty mins and add that to the DJ. (minus the tea bags)

Top up with half a litre of SomethingElse (and as much AJ as you need), it'll help the flavour a lot

Opps sorry yes i added tea 3bags in a mug and left for 20 mins

I got some pomegranate juice ill drop that in?

Yeh I used pomegranate once and it worked pretty well. Just check it doesn't have sorbates or sulphites.

As far as i can see it got nothing in but water and concentrate but time will tell, it is bubbling alittle atm.

My favourite TC is apple and pomegranate. Adds a lovely twang and, the ASDA/Princess PJ at least, adds a nice mouthfeel too.

Its stopped fermenting a few days ago and its been 10days total when should i bottle or should i decant in to a 2nd DJ?

Is it clear? I always wait for that.
Then I bottle, but if you're putting it away for a long maturation, racking to a new bulk vessel might be better

Unless you used cloudy juice it ought to clear by itself. 10 days isn't long, give it at least a few days.

If you want it carbonated it's much simpler to just use artificial sweetener. If you use sugar you have to stop the yeast, and that then means carbonating artificially...
4 to 6 tsp/gallon will get it to mediumsweet, 2 tsp/gallon will just 'take the edge off'.
If you want it still anyway though, pot sorbate + sodium metabisulphite (Campden) together - 1 Campden tab + 1tsp (maybe a short tsp) sorbate per gallon

Well it's still sugar in the juice that does the sweetening so you still have the carbonation problem.
Some people ferment to dry but serve over a bit of juice, that works.

I have just finished 23 ltrs of turbo cider.
its now in the barrel.
I put the whole 23ltrs in at the start.
it dosnt taste of any apple,
can I now add 2 or 3 ltrs of apple juice, to the barrel.
I will lose the pressure, but can re gas with my gas bottle.
thanks sam.

One suspects there'll be enough yeast left to look at that juice and say "whoopee! let's make more alcohol!"
Which at least is better than the stuff ending up sweet...
And there'll be exactly as much apple per unit volume in any juice you add as you already have, so it won't help.
It's like wine - you make it out of nettles, does it taste like nettles? Only after you've been told what it was made of.
