Howyis,
I tried to bottle my Youngs BrewBuddy Lager yesterday and lost nearly half the brew due to the trub exploding and rising up through the beer. Usually I brew coopers and the trub stays solid in the bottom of the FV but not with this one ! I have to carry the fv downstairs to bottle it in the kitchen so its important that the trub stays solid in the bottom of the fv.
Did I make an error whilst preparing the brew or is this a problem related to the type of yeast supplied with the kit?
Any answers/advice appreciated,
Thanks.

Well there's no reason why you should lose any, just bottle what you can and leave the rest to settle again for a few days if you really mess up badly.

I always try to move an FV a few hours before I intend to bottle/keg, and preferably the day before.

Some yeasts do clump together and settle out better, it's called flocculation. Others form a fairly loose silt. Sounds like you've got the latter.
