i am going on a caravaning holiday soon and would love to take a keg full with me but
how long will it iake to clear again or should i transfer the clear beer in to another keg
cheers

If thats what you want to do I would lob it in the van, then when you are there crack it open (care of pressure) add some gelatine solution, and then 24/48 hrs you are good to go.

Of course this will require regassing via c02 cylinder.

Assuming that the brew is going to disappear in fairly short order, wouldn't it be better to re-keg or bottle in PETs?

Wez, your suggestion seems to be losing this bloke one or two days' valuable drinking time :drink:

Caravanning in January/February
Been there, done that, hope you're burning propane 'cos butane freezes.

Yep - but if a keg is what you want, its either take a clear force carbed keg or quick fine.

sorry i dont understand a quick fine.
it is a big family hol with 5 adults all like a beer so i guess 40 pints could quite easily get drunk over a week
can i not just transfer the clear beer in to another keg and then re gas os will this not work
it will be a wherry bitter if it matters

You can transfer it to another keg, but you will run the risk of oxidising the beer :(
If I were to do it I would purge the new keg with CO2 to remove any air, I would attach tubing from the tap of the original keg to the bottom of the new CO2 purged keg.
I would then release all pressure in the initial keg and run the clear beer into the new keg using gravity only, stop before any air is drawn into the bottom keg.
Seal the new keg, give it a quick squirt of CO2 leave it for 5 minutes vent the cask again, reseal then gas up again :thumb:
