Transferring from FV to Keg

Hi all

My second kit (a Muntons Porter) is almost ready to be transferred to the barrel - I have a newbie question though

When I siphon from the FV to the barrel should I use a filter such as the one here, or transfer it directly through the tube into the keg?

For my first kit I didnt filter and it came out fine, but always looking to improve my knowledge!

I haven't filtered any of mine. :

I just use a large syphon tube dont worry about the sediment try to stay just off the bottom you need a bit of yeast in the brew for the priming unless your using a corny and planning to force carbonate
