just a quick one when i transfer my brew to the presser keg can i just use a garden hose (will sterilize the pipe first) as iv got no other pipe as i have a tap on the bottom of my fermenting barrel so i plan to drain the brew to the keg from the tap using some pipe

I should think it will be fine as the beer is in contact with non-food grade plastic for a very brief time, no harm will be done. Just santitise well :thumb:

Just let it fall into the sanitized pressure barrel. I know people say about oxidising the beer but i've never had a problem and always rack from primary into secondary this way. My theory is that their will still be co2 in the beer and this will be knocked out of the beer but as it's heavier than o2 and hang around and protect the beer from oxidising. It seems safer to me than using non-food grade piping that could risk a plasticy taste to your finished beer.

Or buy a bit of food grade tubing that fits your tap

If you were going to use a hose I'd run some water through it first and taste it
